Top 10 Mantras To Reinforce The Fact That You Won’t Complete Your Goals In 2022

0 0

The first month of 2022 just ended, momentum on achieving your goals is slowing.

An overwhelming pressure to push forward is weighing heavy on your shoulders.

Suddenly you realize this year will be just like all the other years: stressing over goals that you’ll never accomplish.

Consisting of the same off and on routine you’ve grown to know so well, it really is just the same goals, different year.

Why do this again and again, year after year?

The energy we intend to fuel our accomplishments ends up fueling the stress and discomfort of underachievement.

Convincing yourself that this year will be different is indeed futile.

We all know where this ends, and sadly, we constantly tell ourselves otherwise.

If only there was a way out of this never ending cycle.

Oh wait! There is!

It is to constantly remind yourself of the truth: you won’t be able to accomplish them.

By emphasizing all the obstacles in your way, you’ll soon give up and finally exit the revolving door of underachievement.

Here are the top 10 mantras that will keep you from falling into the same trap as every year.

  1. “I don’t have the time”

This is an oldie, but a goodie.

Realistically, after sleeping for 8 hours, prepping for work, driving in traffic to and from work, working, eating and decompressing, you really only have about 2 hours a day to yourself.

Would you really want to spend those 2 hours stressing over those goals you made, drunkenly on December 31st?

Or would you rather kickback, relax, and enjoy your life.

You could be using your time for more productive and meaningful matters such as seeing what your high school crush is doing for lunch on her instagram story or watching a stranger’s puppy grow up.

Aren’t you curious to see what is going on outside of your own life?

Don’t be selfish.

Also, pushing aside your productivity to binge through a streaming series will keep you up to date on social media trends, making you an inclusive member of society.

And aren’t weekends meant for taking care of necessities?

Like grocery shopping, cleaning around the house, and your brother’s girlfriend’s ex’s daughter’s twin’s baby shower?

Or maybe you’re into wearing another man’s last name on your back while you cheer him down the field.

Whatever the case may be, you can’t just skip on these priorities to attempt to tackle the same promise you made yourself last year.

You gotta take care of yourself and enjoy the little things.

Make time for what matters most.

  1. “I’m too tired”

Being tired is a great reason to avoid productivity.

Attempting to be productive while tired is actually counteractive.

The Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine reported that employees who slept less had”significantly worse productivity, performance, and safety outcomes”.

In fact, it showed that each worker ended up costing the company $1,967 in production.

If you are tired or fatigued, the best thing you can do for yourself is ensure you are well rested.

Sleep in and take naps regularly.

Feeling the slightest bit tired can become a detriment to your goals.

  1. “I’ll never be good enough”

Being honest with yourself will make an extraordinary difference.

If you’ve set goals that seem out of reach and require a major skill set in order to be accomplished, you might want to look in the mirror and talk some sense into yourself.

A truthful look at what is expected to accomplish your goals has the potential to save you time and energy instead of investing effort into those pointless hopes of achievement.

  1. “This Isn’t What I Really Want”

Some goals are made with the intention of pleasing those around you or to achieve a higher status in life.

You’re probably content with being right where you are but have been altering your goals with the influence of outside forces.

The dream life with the dream house and the dream car comes with plenty of sacrifices.

Obviously those sacrifices haven’t been worth it to you in the past, why would you want to make them now?

If you’d rather not make the sacrifices and are happy with where you are, just chill.

Your friends and family will still love you no matter if your current position is lame and at a dead end.

  1. “I’m too old/young”

If you’ve ever thought this, you’re probably right.

Age is a huge factor in performance, presenting both mental and physical disadvantages.

And being too young comes with lack of experience and developmental disadvantages.

You don’t want to risk your future, however much you have left, on an unpromised achievement ambition.

  1. “My friends and family don’t approve”

Do you want to be looked at as the reject in the family?

Or have your friends make fun of you?

The constant pursuit of goals, especially ones that aren’t easy to obtain, ones that require great change, can cause those closest to you to develop a new perception of you – the black sheep.

Your family and friends are looking out for your best interest. It will behoove you to listen to those who know you the most.

  1. “I’ll do it tomorrow”

This is the most powerful mantra.

Tomorrow will always be the best time to do it.

When the next day rolls around, you can even use this excuse again!

Tomorrow will always be there.

  1. “I have more fun doing other things”

Of course hobbies and entertainment are going to keep you interested.

Is crucial to prioritize these activities so that you don’t grow bored in life.

Spending your precious time caught up in the mundane routine of stress and failure will result in further resentment of your goals and efforts.

Instead, do the things you love to do, even if it sets you a few steps back.

Life is actually about prioritizing fun.

Like the old adage goes “work’s hard so play harder”.

  1. “It’s just who I am”

If you know who you truly are, why try to change?

There’s no point in trying to be someone you aren’t.

If you’re happy with not amounting to anything and living a plain and uneventful life, then go for it!

Attempting to change will instill fear and anxiety, pressuring you to discard your true self.

  1.  “I’m not ready”

Being prepared to tackle your goals is a major key.

If you are not ready to begin, you will easily become discouraged and the probability of failure rises.

The best thing you can do here is put it off and try when you’re ready.

Conclusion

Life is hard enough.

Attempting to become someone that you’re not year after year will eventually run its toll.

By reminding yourself of all the reasons that the goals cannot be achieved, you will discontinue the trend of constant defeat.

Practice these mantras so you can alleviate the failure and continue living your simple life.
